Mozart’s Requiem ✨

The last time I sang this piece, I managed to tear three ligaments in my left foot 30 minutes before the performance. In true fashion, I told myself, “I can do this,” and performed the entire concert standing on one foot. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first time I had to improvise for support during a performance. The first time I twisted my ankle, I flew to Germany the very next day to sing Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle—this was back in 2011 🙈

In the end, it all worked out. Yes, it was painful, but I let the beauty of the music distract me from the situation and gave the best performance I could under the circumstances 🤍

Grateful for this gorgeous music and its ability to carry us through difficult situations 🎶
